Great series, Drew.

The two Kate Gray poems are exceptional; I shivered while reading them. I've put her book title on my always growing list.

I especially like what Gray says about writing in community, how it can hold up the light to what's good. Last night, I tuned in to a Zoom presentation honoring the late poet Martha Silano (she died of ALS recently), whose birthday and book publication was yesterday. Many of the readers of the just-published collection, Terminal Surreal, had written with Martha, who, all said, was especially generous and helpful in her criticism and the time she made for them. The poems were the last she wrote and the readings were deeply moving. I had that online community with TweetSpeak for a long time and while I outgrew it somewhat I still read the posts and sometimes, inspired, receive a poem.
